Stillman Seen As Judge Candidate From Algona
Ger ald Stillman of Algona is a judge nominee for this district with Emmet county pride in his upbringing there. Judge Quarton of Algona is a former district judge. The Upper Des Moines reports a 31 bushel grain yield in Algona area crops but grain type remains unspecified. Weather favors harvest and threshing, with favorable temps for corn at day and people at night. The piece argues northern Iowa farmers can profit over a decade, criticizes railroad wage cuts, notes Rock Island railroad cutbacks in Estherville, and predicts a strong crop outlook that may challenge Henry Wallace to manage prices. It ends urging readers to subscribe to the Vindicator and Republican.
