Democratic Convention's turbulent national meeting shocks the nation
The Democratic National Convention in St Louis sparked a historic, noisy week of speeches and debates. Radicals and conservatives clashed over gold standards and party policy as leaders struggled to shape the platform and respond to Bryanites, with telegraphic chatter from St Louis signaling possible realignments. The broader scene touched politics in Russia and rural life reforms, and local elections teased ongoing county attorney race while public libraries expand.
