The King Is Dead and Other Notes From The Era
A fragmented column piece reflects on the death of a monarch at 70, a wedding-linked family quirk with Spake relations, seasonal weather, and a patchwork of poems and prayers. It mentions Florida trips, citrus markets in Lake and Winter Haven, and local events such as an orange festival and state fair. The text also notes Brunos Hauptmann’s and legal reflections on crime and punishment, all presented in a garbled early 20th century newspaper tone.
