Babson Park Florida January 23 1925 heavy rain in Georgia and Alabama delayed the Floridan train twelve hours while the Seminole Limited reached Jacksonville one day late. A washout nearly caused a wreck between Columbus and Albany. Floods damaged bridges and the Wilder Variety store fire response preceded news of printing equipment salvage. The journey noted warmer trends toward spring in Florida and milder winter in the north with fruit prices sinking for grapefruit and groves facing possible abandonment due to overproduction.
