County Board Actions and 1945 Salaries Approved
On January 4 1945 the Emmet County Board met with all members present. The December report of Milo Kesler steward of the county farm was approved and deputies clerks salaries for 1945 fixed. A leave of absence for County Attorney William C Anderson and appointment of Fr Rosendahl as Acting County Attorney were approved. Numerous claims across county funds were audited and approved. A budget estimate for 1945 was approved and the annually elected newspapers were urged to submit official lists for designation as official papers. January 22 1945 minutes note the annual report of County Superintendent Marie Sorum and bonding actions for delinquent tax collectors and assessors. The board authorized hiring J A Rowat as County Engineer for 1945 at 2400 annually and adopted 1945 budget appropriations. A land sale offer from W V Leach and Mrs Leach of Armstrong was approved and deeds authorized. Domestic animal claims were also approved.
