Sibley Power Plant Upgrade Gets Council Approval
The Sibley town council in adjourned session contracted machinery and equipment for the municipal power plant expansion. The four units total 50 968 dollars with a 750 kilowatt turbine from Murray Iron Works at 31 773 dollars, a surface condenser from Allis Chalmers at 6 200 dollars, a switchboard from Electrical Engineering and Construction at 9 500 dollars, and a cooling tower from Schubert Christy at 3 945 dollars. Bids considered Thursday morning, with installation included, account for about half of the total project cost.
