Fine Church Burned in Saturday Fire Des Moines Street
A large church at the corner of Des Moines North Seventh burned Saturday night after a furnace overheated in the rear basement. Fire hydrants froze delaying water supply. flames destroyed the structure built in 1908 with costs around 15000. Insurance covered about 14000. a larger church is planned on the site this year. J C Stone, a former Extherville resident, was buried Friday at Oak Hill. Grand theater ad notes a 12:90 event on Feb 20 1918.
