Iowa Unemployment Payments Dip in January

Less Corn Under Seal in January Than December
The volume of corn placed under government seal in Iowa was less in January than in December. Lester Mos, assistant A A A pond loan supervisor, said about 82,000,000 bushels of the 1941 crop have been scaled to date. Weather and rising prices slow the rate, with market prices often equal to or above loan rates for resealed oil crop. Farmers defer loans on 1948 and 1940 corn to keep stockfeed up or to sell above loan price. War gardens.
