Fire Engine For Superior Chemical Engine Features
A 64 inch wide fire engine with a 44 inch tread prevents overturning on sharp turns and can be attached to a wagon or automobile as a horse-drawn or motorized unit. It includes 100 feet of seven ply chemical hose, a large basket, iron hand-pole, rope rear, shut-off valve, and a pressure gauge. Each tank tested to 860 pounds hydrostatic pressure, nearly fifty gallons capacity. Acid receptacle forged from desilverized lead with brass protection and a glass stopper sealed to prevent spills. The unit, purchased via Krahn Automatic Fire Alarm Systems of Spirit Lake, operates by lifting the stopper to release acid into a water solution to generate pressure.
