Corn allotment increase and 1942 farm plan changes

Official instructions call for a ten percent increase in corn allotments across Emmet county for 1942. A three day AAA summit in Chicago will finalize adjustments for the 1942 program, followed by local township Triple A committees aiding farmers in planning. A new option allows planting the usual 130 percent of final corn allotment, but forfeits corn payments and loan benefits. Dairy farmers with high feed needs or losses in 1941 were prioritized. Farmers should obtain germination tests for soybeans. CCC price guarantees apply to certain varieties with 68 percent+ germination.
