Oldest Greek Bible Manuscript Retrieved From Sinai Monastery

On March 24 1844 Lobegott Tischendorf reached St Catherine's on the Sinaitic peninsula seeking biblical texts. After initial failure a bundle of leaves revealed the Septuagint and later the complete New Testament, making it one of the oldest accurate Greek Bible manuscripts. The find highlighted the cultural treasure held by Protestant Catholic and Greek Church institutions.
