May Can Fruit Without Sugar For Home Canning

Miss Ruth Cessna extension nutrition specialist says fruit may be canned without sugar if the housewife desires and sweetened with the fruit's own juice or water instead of sirup. Processing times for less sour fruits like pears and peaches are increased by 10 minutes. Sugar cuts due to tight finances should not stop preserving fruit for later use, she emphasized.
