The Cedar Rapids Republican reports on the state executive council’s tax reassessment for Iowa properties. It notes increases in rail property valuations by about 21 million and farm land boosts, while overall taxes rise and the levy shifts from 24 mills to 3, with total valuations up about 60 million. The piece contrasts railway and farm assessments and comments on equitable distribution across counties amid legal requirements.
