Snowbound Dunnell Minn high school bus story
A snowstorm stranded a Dunnell Minnesota school bus carrying thirty pupils in Sherburn last week causing families to open their homes for shelter. Supt Dittes supplied a radio for late night fights while students were fed in the domestic science room and bus driver A R Peterson stayed overnight in a restaurant. Families faced delays, with several residents marooned near Fairmont and Welcome, and local farm hands tending stock and chicks as winds raged. The report recalls hardships once common fifty years ago.
