War Department cautions parents and friends about a telegraph scam asking for wire transfers claiming a soldier has a furlough. Do not send money or reveal identification. Public notices urge vigilance to prevent financial theft from service families.
Charles W Hall has been appointed and commissioned by the District Court of Emmet County Iowa as executor of Lillie J Hall deceased. All claimants must file with the court clerk sworn and in time to be proved. Creditors should pay promptly to avoid costs. Dated at Eutherville Iowa April 16 1948.
The joint Board of Supervisors of Emmet and Palo Alto Counties met in session on Drainage District No 21. Officials present were F M Woldan W H Gibbs J L Brown J H Griffith J D Weir from Emmet and Jos Kiegl Albert Steiner John Rehm Hans Westermaard L J Mulroney from Palo Alto. J J Brown was elected chairman and W F Engen secretary. The engineer's report on the clean-out of Drainage District No 21 was adopted and the auditors were directed to publish a contractor notice. The boards adjourned until April 30 1918 to meet at Kametsburg Court House.
The April 10 1918 county board session in Emmet County met with all members present and heard objections to D. D. No 111 and 109 while affirming and adjusting apportionments. Multiple drainage districts were discussed with bids opened for graveling and ditch work, several contracts awarded, adjournments set for May 1 1918, and damages awarded to landowners along petitioned roads.
