Iowa Thirtieth General Assembly Ends Busy Session
Des Moines April 12 The Iowa legislature adjourned after a busy session begun January 11 with over 900 bills. About 220 became law, including major appropriations totaling roughly 3.725 million dollars for general expenses penal and charitable institutions and educational needs. Several notable measures failed, such as the indeterminate sentence bill and a state wide primary law. The record lists many new laws and joint resolutions, plus a biennial election constitutional amendment expected to pass next fall.
