Seed corn in critical condition at Ames station
More than 600 seed corn samples from across Iowa arrived at the Ames experiment station for germination tests. On average 26 of 100 kernels failed to grow and 16 were weak, leaving only 66 strong. The notice urges testing six kernels from each ear for spring planting, to discard poor germination and improve yields. Bulletin No. 77 on testing will be sent free on application.

Church group fundraisers set for April in Graaf buil
The la A. S. of the Ms. church will hold an all day sale of fancy and useful articles on Wednesday April 11 in the Graaf building. A supper starts at 6 and costs 6 cents. The Ladies Aid society of the regular Baptist church serves supper in the basement Friday April 6 from 6 until finished, 16 cents. An entertainment and candy sale are planned in the Graaf building Friday April 8 to raise funds for mission work. Sunday school for mission aid and the Catholic Aid society meet at Mrs Lawrence Peterson's home on Thursday April 5.

Narrow Escape From Coal Gas Fumes In South 10th Street
Mrs. Patrick Keenan lies critically ill at her South 10th street home from carbon monoxide fumes from a hard coal burner. George Keenan, also affected, was able to be up and out by noon. The husband awoke to the odor, opened doors and windows, reviving them with Dr. Birney's aid.
