Remnants of Natoma Diversion Dam Seen by Pioneering Site Artifacts

Docents from Folsom Powerhouse and state archaeologist Jenifer Padgett toured the North Fork American River near Salmon Falls to study the Natoma Water and Mining Company Diversion Dam. Built in 1868 with Chinese labor, it spanned 298 feet long and stood 16 feet high before being blown up in 1959 to remove a boat hazard.
