Cal Fire Amador El Dorado lifted the burn permit suspension in Amador El Dorado Alpine and Sacramento counties on Monday November 9 allowing valid agriculture and residential permits to resume on permissible burn days. Agriculture burns require preburn inspection through peak fire season and Burn permits remain required until season end. Residents urged to burn cautiously and control fires. civil or criminal liability may result from escapes. El Dorado County residents should verify permissive burn days by calling (530) 621 5897.
Dorado Hills resident and U S Army Reserve veteran Joe Whiten is honored as El Dorado County Veteran of the Year at Veterans Day ceremonies in Placerville. The Serrano Salute to Valor golf tournament has raised about fifty two thousand dollars for veterans in two years, with initial forty two thousand going to local causes and the rest staying in the county.
California Highway Patrol reports Jeremy Meyers, superintendent of Schools, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence last Thursday afternoon. He was driving a white 2013 Dodge Ram westbound on Green Valley Road in Placerville when his vehicle drifted off the road and into a utility box. no injuries were reported and the truck was towed.
More than 90 percent of Measure E voters oppose rezoning the 98 acre former executive golf course from open space recreation to residential and commercial use. 8,024 of 22,240 votes cast in the EDHCSD boundary favored keeping open space with about 91 percent saying no and 9 percent yes. The non-binding advisory vote will inform but not bind county supervisors deciding on Parker Development’s Serrano Westside plan.
