In El Dorado County foothill areas dry winter and high winds raise fire danger. Fire Safe Council and forest service urged defensible space and emergency plans as fires reach South Lake Tahoe Lotus Folsom and the Western Folsom Preserve. Residents along Lake Natoma trail saw smoke and scorched vegetation after a June 21 blaze near Lake Natoma.
