Local swimmer Sara Haley earns Olympic trials bid
Oak Ridge High student Sara Haley, 17, from El Dorado Hills, qualified for the Olympic trials by posting 2 14.04 in the 200 meter butterfly at the XLI Santa Clara Grand Prix, after a morning heat setback and a late-finals surge. She trains six days a week with a program including a trainer and sports psychologist, aiming for a 2 10 at trials. Haley eyes 2012 London Olympics and college options at UC Santa Barbara, Michigan, or Hawaii.
