Sheriff Neves exits race backs Thorkildsen in 2010
El Dorado County Sheriff Jeff Neves, 55, will not seek a third term and will focus on family and volunteer work. He endorses Capt. Craig Thorkildsen, a 27 year veteran, citing leadership and integrity. Remaining candidates for sheriff include Stan Perez and others, with a potential run-off in November if no candidate clears 50 percent in June.
