Airman Alexander R. Lloyd graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland in Texas. The program lasted eight weeks and covered discipline, values, fitness, and basic warfare skills, with credits toward an associate degree. Lloyd is a Vanden High School graduate and son of Michele MacLaren and Richard Lloyd.
Senior Day at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills honored Principal Steve Wehr and Assistant Principal Pam Bartlett on May 30 after final exams. Wehr, who joined in 2004, has guided nine years of academic gains and facility upgrades while Bartlett will lead the district's Special Education.
El Dorado County Supervisor Ray Nutting, 53, was arrested May 28 on four felony counts including failing to disclose income, filing false documents, perjury and failing to recuse from votes with a financial stake. He was released on 55000 bail as DA Vern Pierson announced details from a months long probe reported by Village Life. Counts allege undisclosed SCRMC income, late disclosure, false Prop 40 paperwork, and conflicting voting on projects. Nutting denied wrongdoing, while Cal Fire warned of dangers on his 340 acre property amid budget delays for the Board of Supervisors.
