Station 84, built in 1982 as a volunteer muster point, will be demolished and rebuilt on a Francisco Boulevard parcel a quarter mile north of Green Valley Road. The site will house an engine behind the storefront with minor improvements. The aging station protected Salmon Falls Road and Kanaka Valley areas and stands as a defense for prominent neighborhoods including Summit and Promontory against hot Folsom Lake winds.
El Dorado County Deputy District Attorney Lisette Suder warned about online predators during a cyber safety talk at Marina Village Middle School. She told 75 parents that predators use unknown web contacts to target youth and urged parental education plus open dialogue.
The El Dorado Hills Bike Pedestrian Safety Coalition held its second formal meeting last week to push safer bike routes and safer north south passage through the Boulevard interchange. Erin Gorrell notes 2500 to 3000 competitive riders in the area. The group aims to expand bike routes and implement safety improvements across the community.
