EID considers water rate restructuring amid sticker shock
El Dorado Irrigation District directors heard a consultant's first formal rate study presentation showing steep increases under a proposed restructuring. The plan, by Bartle Wells Associates, would unify water and waste water charges and raise base fees for larger meters while stressing revenue neutrality under Prop 218. A Dec. 15 board discussion is scheduled as staff provides more figures.
