The California Youth Basketball league opens registration for the winter 2009 season with games from January 10 to February 20. Boys and girls ages 4 to 18 may register as individuals or as teams. For information call (916) 391-3900.
Hoops shoot for boys and girls ages 8 to 13 takes place December 14 at 10 a.m. in the Ponderosa High School gym with signups at 9. Participants are divided into three age groups and boys and girls compete separately. Six division winners advance to the district event on January 3 with an awards dinner planned for spring.
