Ice Breaker Swim Tests Folsom Lake Chilled Open Water
Open water event at Granite Beach, Granite Bay, drew nearly 200 swimmers for a half mile course with option to do it twice. Windy, choppy water and a surface current challenged even veterans while TBF staff coached on wetsuits and breathing. Two beginners failed to finish the course as El Dorado Hills and EDH Sports Club participants faced cold water, with temperatures 60 to 62 degrees.
