Deacons and Trustees Chosen at Quarterly Methodist Conference
At a Vernon district quarterly conference held in the church house last Friday night officers of the Methodist church were elected. The trustees named include G W Backus W D Erry BE Leute wyler Judge E L McHugh McCulloch H F McKibbin and U S Davis. The stewards board lists many members led by G W Backus J W Brock J A Carney William Crutchfield G Curry E Christian U S Davis C J Farrell W H Huggins J B Morris P M McKinley S E Porterfield BE P Robertson J L Swartwood Jesse L Showers Mrs J TH Watts Mrs T M Fergeson W A Wilhelm R F E Wafer W A Walker and G T Key. Judge McHugh was chosen recording steward and U S Davis district steward with RK D L Killough named Sunday school superintendent. The pastor Dr Vernon Sation wrote the conference praising the church work and noting a Sunday school enrollment around 400 with a rally day attendance of 451, the highest mark. A memorial to Rev W P Garvin’s late wife and sympathy for his loss were read along with auxiliary reports showing 110 members.

Federal aid roads expand at over 100 miles monthly
