Vernon weighs municipal plant vs private power firm takeover
Vernon faces a pivotal choice as Texas Central Power buys the Texas Public Service stake and plans upgrades after taking over December 1. The new private system promises improved service at fair rates, with officials urging patience to see if it can deliver before committing to municipal construction.
