Vernon area highway bond issue gains outside funding
Wilbarger County contends the State Highway Department will cover two thirds of finishing two highways to the county line in four directions from Vernon, injecting about 800000 of federal and state aid into local roads. Officials say projects have exceeded promises thanks to this aid, including extra concrete work on the Colorado Gulf Highway and additional paving in Oklaunion and along the Seymour road.
