Sealed proposals to improve Wilbarger County highways near Vernon Texas will be received until 10:00 a.m. November 27 1928 and publicly opened. The project involves reconstructing 82 miles of concrete pavement with reinforced concrete and steel, with estimated quantities of 116860 pounds of reinforcing steel and 382000 square yards of pavement. Notice of Road Bond Election in Wilbarger County Texas
Residents are notified that a road bond election will be held on the November date in Wilbarger County Texas to decide bond issuance of 600 000 dollars for roads and whether a tax shall be levied to pay interest and provide a sinking fund. The order was entered by the Commissioners Court on October 1928 after a petition by residents. The bonds would bear interest not exceeding five and a half percent and mature within 30 years, with funds to build gravel or paved roads and turnpikes. The election is conducted under Article 627.
