Vernon to Benefit by Express Merger
Vernon is expected to become a key express shipments hub in the Southwest as mergers centralize traffic. Local agent TH A McCanlies says all shipments will move by short line through Vernon, boosting Oklahoma business previously routed via North and Denison. Director General McAdoo orders after July 1 direct express handling, with company names fading from wagons and stations to cut handling costs.
