$100 000 Presbyterian church goal announced Vernon
A Presbyterian church in Vernon plans a new building estimated at not less than $100000, with construction hoped to begin next spring. A special finance committee led by Fred W. Gardner will draft plans for the house of worship and a basement recreation area for youth. The church, formed by the merger of First and South Main, aims to meet needs for years to come. The committee also includes local leaders and will coordinate fundraising and facilities. The pastor Rev Gaines B. Hall will lead the effort and receive a salary increase along with a new car.
