Behind Schedule Recording Clerks in Wilbarger County
The Wilbarger County clerk's office in Vernon remains busy with 16 to 20 typists in the north room and Miss Verna Lucky and six assistants in the southeast room. They are about two weeks behind but aim to stay that way to keep the office from becoming idle, per Judge McHugh's note. Some deed filings reportedly waited up to a month during a rush after the Sigler discovery.
