Convention Urges More Government Service to Business
At the national convention in Atlantic City the United States Chamber of Commerce urged less government interference and more service to business. Jed Morrow reports broad support for elevating commercial secretaries to high business status and calls for tariffs based on facts while Hoover urges anti foreign trusts and notes low prices stem from German subsidies. The Tribune summarizes the open shop stance, tariff debates, and Texan voices including J H Kirby and Haines, with Defrees defending Chamber openness to labor.
