High Batmen Triumph Over Wichita College at Fair Park
Vernon highs rallied in the fourth inning to defeat Wichita Junior College 7 to 3 at Fair Park. James Scott delivered the three base hit and drove in three runs, while Vernon compiled seven hits to Wichita’s two. Walker, Key, Temmons, Gelhausen, and Bowman each contributed runs as Vernon withstood two late rallies and limited errors to clinch the victory.

Circle No 1 of the Methodist church hosted a church party at Mrs J T Lee Youngs Paradise Street home on Friday afternoon. The program featured two solos by Mrs T Gilmore of New York City with accompanist Miss Thelma Sherriff, a piano number by Mrs You Babasin, and two readings by Mrs Leon T Brown. A guessing game followed and seventy guests enjoyed a sound course.
