Open Shop Labor Claim Saved Wilharger County Funds
A county open shop committee claims that awarding a painting contract to a non union bidder under open shop rules saved about 1100 dollars. They report that union rules and closed shop conditions would have increased costs and that county officials followed oath duties while the painter used non union workers. The wiring contract with a local firm proceeded after painting work, with later objections from an electrical contractor over union labor.
