Sacrifices Highlight Baptist Fund Drive Urges Self Denial
Dr S F Groner of Dallas told a local Baptist congregation that Southern Baptists in Texas are making self denying gifts in a seventy five million dollar campaign. He cited stories of donors including a widow who gave an engagement ring valued at 250 dollars later auctioned for 1008 dollars and restored to the owner. He warned morale is the campaign’s key and described projects from a El Paso tuberculosis sanatorium to Mexican mission work and aid for 80 000 soldiers with funds shared from the drive.
