Harvest season nears end across the county in dry year
County farm agent N R Tisdal says harvest will finish by week’s end with threshing starting early next week. Farmers report good yields per acre near Oklainton and Harrold, ample labor, and better help this season. Rain is needed especially for early corn and unplowed ground, though recent showers may ease the drought. Cotton chopping proceeds despite worms and grasshoppers as roads stay fair to good.
