Mrs Verna Weekley of Lockett wins a two week trip visiting Colorado Springs Denver and Yellowstone Park with return via Kansas and Oklahoma. The contest by United Fidelity Insurance of Dallas awarded the prize to an agent who wrote 100000 of life insurance in the year. A letter from Dr W H Beazley to A J Robinson warns Vernon may need sterilization or boiled water. Tests show 12,000 bacteria per cubic centimeter in city wells and 100,000 in spring water. 47,000,000 bacteria per pint in the spring runoff. Local Guardsmen from Vernon to Attend Camp Maneuvers
More than 40 infantrymen of Vernon's National Guard unit left Sunday for Austin to join a 15 day joint army maneuvers and camp of instruction. Capt Clyde Watts commanded with Lieut Perry McDonald as second in command. Robert Lutz led as top sergeant, and the unit traveled by special car and troop train. Personal business had threatened attendance but strict guard rules allowed the trip.

Funeral Today for Child in Louisville Died Sunday

Youth Dash to Sheriff Roofed by Mexican in Fearful Claim
A youth about a year old burst into the sheriff's office claiming someone was trying to kill him. He said two Mexicans accused him of talking about them and chased him when one began buying cartridges.
