Eighteen locals attended the Red River District meeting of the West Texas Chamber of Commerce with officials from Presidio and Whitefolds presiding. Delegates wrapped up business, toured Lake Kemp races, and planned the June or July district gathering at Helvietta.

Mrs Nora Vendergast seventy four crippled by rheumatism was arrested in New York over the death of Mrs Mary McGovern found in Mrs Pendergast s apartment. Police allege she beat the other woman to death with her crutch. All charges denied.

Formal acceptance of Rev. M.A Perry as pastor at Central Christian church in Denton. He resigns from First Christian, August 1, to begin here with family. Perry will preach his first sermon August 2. The move follows pastorship in Robersonville New York where membership doubled and new churches formed.
