The home demonstration department will hold a two day short course for Wilbarger County girls in Vernon on July 15 and 16. Topics include cooking canning drying home beautification sewing and keeping accounts. Activities feature canning demonstrations sewing projects health lectures swimming table service etiquette and home beautification projects with all members bringing record books and sewing.

Sunday school begins at 9 45 with preaching by the pastor at 11 00 and 7 30 p m. The series of sermons will continue through July with the theme Moses Choice as the Sunday evening message.
Mrs W B Rutherford, now at Paint Rock, was sent for as her mother lay ill and died Monday at 6. She will return to Vernon next week. The mother was buried Tuesday at Vu Rock after the death at 6 o'clock.
In Red River on July 2 a special correspondent reports crops thriving after recent rains and farmers enjoying good weather. The community notes include church visits, pastoral announcements, and multiple residents visiting neighbors and relatives across Pleasant Valley and Red River areas.
C. Holt of Texline joined his wife in Vernon today and is visiting at the home of her grandparents Mr and Mrs J J Griffiths. He plans a trip to northeast Arkansas on White River for fishing and vacationing. Holt served in the cavalry on the Mexican border during the war.
Texas sheriff is commanded to summon Grady Mathews by weekly newspaper publication for four weeks before the September 6 1920 term of the Wilbarger County District Court. The suit by Trustees of the Wilbarger Haley Oil Company alleges contract breach in drilling an oil and gas well and removing a cloud on title. Judgment date set for the first Monday of September 1920.
SMERIFI S NOTICE OF ELECTION The State of exes County of Wilbarger an election will be held on July 3 in Wells Chapel school house District No 3 to decide if property taxpayers favor raising the district tax by up to 50 cents per 100 dollars valuation to fund the State School Fund. Qualified voters resident in the district may vote. Ordered by County Judge June 1920. Dated June 7, 1920. W A Ish Sheriff Wilbarger County Texas.
John A. Weeks a prominent New York lawyer and clubman married Elsa Adele Schreiter in New York. Weeks is sixty three and the bride nineteen. They met when Weeks visited his daughters at St. Agnes school in Albany.
