The 1919 income tax effort kicks off as Internal Revenue officials push for accurate sworn returns. Taxpayers must review 1918 income, deductions, and exemptions, with guidance to prepare now and expect new forms once Congress acts.
Washington reports that on November 11 the U S Army on the western front numbered 1,950,100 men, second only to France 2,559,000. British and Portuguese forces total 1,718,000, Belgians and Italians about 200,000. De mobilization shows 700 officers and 858,117 men discharged by Jan 24. Britain 2750 officers and 611,950 men discharged by Jan 11. A birth is noted in North east Vernon: a boy born January 26 to Mr and Mrs T A Blackwood.

C F Foster came home from oil-field trips to Ranger and De Leon. Earl Grimes, discharged from the army, arrived from Camp Bowie for a possible permanent stay with his brother M J Grimes. Theodore Collins, ill for two months, was sent to a sanitarium in Fort Worth for treatment. he was accompanied by his father W T Collins and Dr Webh of Chillicothe.
