G R Jones has been employed by the Wilbarger County Commissioners as county agent and arrived Saturday to start duties in the basement office of the library building with the chamber of commerce. A Georgia Agricultural College graduate, he spent three years on the extension staff after graduation and served 26 months in the U S Army as a first lieutenant before locating in Carter County Oklahoma eight months ago. Wilbarger County had been without an agent since Tisdal’s resignation early in the year.

Ten Days More to Complete Baylor County Bridge
Baylor county commissioners told Vernon officials the Wichita River bridge will be finished in ten days and the Seymour road to the bridge in three weeks. A county survey warned the Wichita River dam would back water and affect Vernon Seymour routes, with a large reservoir primarily in Baylor county and hindering Wilbarger traffic.
