New Phone Rates Take Effect Reducing Long Distance Charges
The Wichita Falls meeting of managers and operators approved a two class system with station to station and person to person calls. The change lowers long distance costs with a 3 cent per six mile rate up to twenty four miles and four cents beyond that, while person to person charges vary by whether the called party answers. Savings include reduced tolls to Fort Worth and Dallas compared with prior all toll rates.
