Public Service Seeks Vernon Pact With City Over Rates
The Texas Public Service Co offers to sell its Vernon electric plant at fair value or to reduce rates if the city will not compete. Proposed minimum charge up to 1.25 and stepped kW rates plus ice pricing for residences and businesses would cause company losses but avert municipal duplication and new taxes. A. V. Foster, president, states discussions with Vernon officials were fair and aimed at public interest.
