Court Critique of Insanity Plea Ends With Deedless Deception
District Judge Nabers recalls a case where J Walker Hall and Judge Huff failed to elicit a sane response from a man accused of theft who feigned insanity. The alleged ruse involved coaching the prisoner to stay silent, later exposing abuse of the insanity defense. The incident led to bond for the man and mentions Hall and Huff, now prominent judges.
