Odell Named for Railroad Official In Early Town History
Odell's growth traced from railroad arrival to early businesses and leaders. Stults, first ground worker and later postmaster, helped shape the town with stores, a bank robbery in 1911, a brick school, three churches, and the 1921 fire that reshaped the Masonic and Odd Fellows halls.

Stults built the town’s first structure on the Odell site and moved in September 108. Mrs Stults notes sunflowers towered above the porch during the opening. Neighbors made a bet over who would buy the first article from the bowen shop and related vendors in town.
