Sam Benson, a form setter on a town east paving project, lost the second finger of his right hand when a fellow worker driving stakes misaimed and struck him Saturday. He was rushed to Standifer sanitarium where doctors removed the finger and reported he is progressing satisfactorily.
An all day millinery session was held last Thursday at Crescent Cove near Mrs. W. B. Covert home. Many attendees lacked materials and learned hat making from Miss Eula Goodfellow. A follow up meeting is planned for May 17. Mr. and Mrs. Eunice Wilson and Mrs. R. P. Wilson traveled to Sweetwater to visit relatives and attend a Coca Cola Company representatives meeting.
Miss Frances Hicks hosted a Tuesday bridge session with three tables. Substitutes included Mrs. C M Caraway and Miss Roberta Standifer plus Dagmal ita Standifer. Regulars present were Misses Mary Anderson Oleta Youngblood Juanita Youngblood Esther Swartwood Olive Shive and Mrs Clint Swartwood Mrs SoS Munger and Mrs Letyglel.
The Oklainien Home Improvement Club meets today at the home of Mrs. I. M. Smith. All members are urged to be present for the gathering and discussion of club activities.
