Vernon resident James C. Richardson serves with U S Marines in wartime style grand mimic exercises across land sea and air in Hawaii and surrounding Pacific waters. Marines from coast to coast join battleships to form a landing force on Oahu as defense problems are worked out by Navy and Marine Corps with Army support. The simulated attack on Oahu is set for late April with Richardson likely returning to Quantico around May 27.
